Tucson Water has added more public meetings on potential new water conservation policies that the City Council will consider next month. Under the plan, Tucson Water's conservation efforts would be funded by a charge of 3 cents per 100 cubic feet of water used, and the revenues would help fund existing conservation efforts and the 22 new measures focused mainly on toilet improvements and landscape management. The new policies could include rebates for households that replace old toilets with low-flow ones or install gray water harvesting systems. Code changes could require that plumbing changes be made when properties are sold.
